In short, this book is The Dark Knight Returns mixed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A post-apocalyptic New York is taken over by the Foot Clan, and the lone surviving Ninja Turtle must defeat them with the help of both some old and new friends. A dark and gritty take on the heroes in a half shell, this book is written by their original creators, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. They had the idea for this book all the way back in the 80’s! It’s great for both new and long-time fans of TMNT. Plus, if you like it, there are two sequels: The Last Ronin: Lost Years and The Last Ronin II: RE:evolution.
